My Kind of Wonderful by Jill Shalvis

If you have not read a Jill Shalvis book before , then I highly recommend to one of her books and getting lost in hot men and romantic stories that have you hooked from the first chapter and this story is no different.

We return to Cedar Ridge where we meet Bailey, who has been living most of her life on a death sentence, fighting hard not let the Cancer win!!!!!
bAiley has been Cancer free for three months now, but has decided to live life to the full. doing things that she couldn't due to hospital appointments and treatments with all that time on her hands she has made a bucket list and ticking off has she goes through life.

That's where our story starts, Bailey finds herself lost on top of a mountain top on a ski run that way out of her depth. Then shows up a hot, stubborn mountain rescue in the form of Hud Kincaid and from the get go he gets her all hot under her ski suit, but when he offers to help her , that stubborn streak of hers kicks in and walks of in a dignified manner that doesn't really go to plan (a very Bridget Jones moment).

Hud Kidcaid is a stubborn, workaholic who blames himself for all his family problems ; from Dad walking out ,then his brother and now his mothers ill health. But from the moment he meet Bailey, she has gotten under his skin from get go. They go their separate ways but fate has its own plan with Hud mother hiring Bailey to paint a family moral at the ski resort that they own and run, had from the start. Thinks that this is a bad idea, but the family vote against  him , so he backs down on this war ,he isn't gong to go down easy.

Bailey wins the hearts of his family, so why is he fighting this war, then he learns that Bailey has been fighting her own personal war all her life and that gets under his skin and wants to protect her and needs her .Bailey pushes his buttons gets under his skin and his family love this and think she is the one for him, he just can't see it. But the pull between them is hard to fight so when a one stand turns into three or four is there something more . They both are so stubborn and can't see they are perfect for each other.....

Go grab a copy of this wonderful tale, I promise you will not be disappointed. But leaving you wanting more from the Cedar Ridge series..

First Frost by Sarah Addison Allan

This is the first book by this author and I found that it was a delightful read.

In this tale we meet the Waverley Sisters, Claire and Sydney with their mischievous apple tree the resides in the family home.

Every year someone  from the Waverley family is surprised with either good or bad events in their life on the first frost of the season. This year it is the turn of Claire , she runs a successful catering business. when one day  she could cope no one with a sick baby and staying up all night attending to her and then working all day, Claire uses her family talent and pulls out an old family receipt for throat sweets  made a batch for her child and never looked back as they become hot cakes and everyone wanted them once word got around and from that moment she began making more sweets and less cooking  which she loved to do as it was her slice of heaven..The candy business is taking the front seat and she is in high demand. 

While Sydney who is finding it hard to let her daughter grown up and make her own mistakes and dealing with the fact that she is unable to conceive anymore.

The story also follows Bay the girl that doesn't seem or want to fit in at school and keeps herself to herself apart from that she has a huge crush on Josh like forever, just like her favorite all time story at the moment Romeo and Juliet.

Then the ladies stories get brought together due to a stranger in town, watches the house and the family.We find out that the stranger is her to con Claire out of money that's how he makes his living, and he is out to make Claire believe that she is not truly a Waverley.

Does that stranger get what he came for or is Claire stronger than she thought, does Sydney get over not having anymore children and does Bay and Josh relationship end better than Romeo and Juliette did ???

The One in a Million Boy By Monica Wood

When I was just this book I wasn't sure it was my cup of tea but I so glad I picked it and read it.

In this wonderful tale is about one boy who life has made a mark on in life and after death. The story starts with Miss Ona Vitkus who is 104 and has many takes to tell but is a very guarded person until someone knocks on her door  asking if she has any odd jobs for her son to do. Miss Ona and the boy bond over her tales and the love of recorded breaking.

Till one day tragedy strikes and the little boy does not turn up fate has taken a twisted turn and a young life has been taken, a few weeks later as been in instructed  by his ex wife Quinn knocks on Miss Ona's door to fulfil the commitment his son has made with her.

The base line of the story is how people  bond unlikely friendships and the ability to deal with grief and move on and live their lives.

This is not one of my normal reads and touched some raw nerves  in my personnel life but I found it very addictive  and carried on reading .

You read so many books but very few touch deep inside your soul and stay with you  and this story is one of them .

You and Me, Always by Jill Mansell

I was so excited to get a copy of this book to review from Jill Mansell, so much that it queue jumped my very long to read pile .

I found after reading chapter one, I didn't want to put the book down has I loved all the characters straight away.As this is a wonderful tale that you can fall in and read in a day or too.

We meet Lily it's her twenty fifth birthday and she is reading the final letter her mum as written for her. As lily lost her mum at an early age but her mother managed to wrote a letter for every birthday for as long as she could until she was too sick and dying to any more. In this final letter she wrote of her love for her , asking if she finally meet her father and spoke of a man that truly had her heart always and provided her with a name in full. Lily took this as a clue to find him and find out more about her mother.

That was not the only secret that Lily was dealing with, she is deeply in love with her best friend Dan, but keeps this under wraps as she knows that he doesn't she her that way and is a it of a player.

We also meet Patsy who is lily best friend and Dan's sister, she is hiding a mystery guest in her house until lily picked the locks to retrieve concert tickets that Dan is trying to hide from Patsy. Her house guest in the form of Eddie Tessler film star is not happy has another person knows where he is hiding from the press another mouth to keep quite. But in the next breath he is happy to have adult company being copperplate until Patsy gets home is driving him aligned mad also feels a pull towards lily too. A secret like this can only stay contained for so long but the chemistry is building up between them. Declan even helped her compose a letter to find Declan to the displeasure of Dan.

Dan is hiding a big whopper of a secret he is in love with Lily has been like before every !!!!

Over in Patsy world her body clock is ticking , she is so wants to have her happy ending her Prince Charming and the baby she has been waiting for so long. After falling in love and thought she had this till her husband told her he was guy but they are still friends and she even set him up with his husband and they play happy families, but this is not enough and wants her happy ever after.

In the book we also follow Carol who has brought Lily up from an early age and is the child she never able to have  and losing her husband at an early age too and dealing with moving on once she meets Declan.

Who will Lily end up with, can Lily and Dan on up to they feelings or will she run away with the film star ????

Will Patsy ever meet her Prince Charming or keep meeting losers on Internet dates???

Will Carol move on and let Declan in ????

Make Me Stay by Jaci Burton

I always look ward to reading one of Jaci Burton books and after reading some last year I can say I'm now a fan.

In this wonderful tale we meet Samantha who owns and runs her own florist business and pours her heart and soul into every creation she makes. As well as running her business she looks after her grandmother who brought her up from an early agency her parents died. Living in Hope fate is always playing a game and her life has its path , which has thrown Sexy Reid McCormack an artiste the renovating a building in Hope which happens to be opposite her shop.

Sam has a great interest on how the building work is going  and manages to get Reid around her house for dinner to get her hands on his blueprints but lands herself wanting more !!!!!

After a couple of meetings their passion takes over, but Sam is not looking for temporary filling, she wants her Prince Charming and her happy ever after. Reid on the other hand as built his life away from Hope, his home is in Boston and he is fighting his feelings for Sam.

When Sam grandmother's health comes into question he is by her side and supporting her  and taking every moment with her, but he is holding back on a life with Sam which they both deserve and that where I leave you  to grab a copy and find out more of this delightful read.
