I'll Take New York by Miranda Dickinson

I first got hooked on this author after reading Take a Look at me now (if you have not read that then go get a copy highly recommend this book to everyone ). When heard that there was a new book I had to get a book on publication day !!!!!

In this book we meet Bea James who owns a book store in New York City with her best friend . Bea has been with her boyfriend Otis for five years and he has let him down time after times so when he did not show up for a family meal he arrange that was the last straw no more Oris or men in her life...

Then there is Jack who's wife has kicked him out of they family home after 10 years and now wants a divorce so his heart still hurts plus he had to move back to New York and start his life all over again.

Through fate they paths meet at Jake's little brother Ed and Rosie engagement party, Bea gets brought along by her brother and his girlfriend they hoping that she would meet a hot guy and forget back the trouble of Otis , but Bea finds they are no single men and heads to the bar. the barman (Jake) takes pity on her and start to talk and by the end of the party they have made a pact to no partners or relationships as they both have heartbreaks in common but they both fail to get each other's number so through the story we see how they find each other again and start to see the city they way with no complications .

fate has other pa,no they start to spend every weekend together and become close friends so when Bea host her very first birthday party in the store is course she ask Jake to help her and Russ out but things for Jake change that night so he feels brave and asks her to his brothers wedding as friends no strings !!!!!!

What I loved about the book is the relationship Bea has with her Grandma Dot and writing to each other asking and giving advice on affairs of the heart.

That's enough spoilers , will Bea and Jake break the 'pact' to each other or for the past ......
You will just have to read the book and find out you won't be disappointed or want to put it down.

Christmas at Rosie Hopkins Sweet Shop by Jenny Colgan

My last Christmas read for 2014 even tho I finished it just after New Year!!!!!!
Well what a boom to finish my christmas reads on and you will not be disappointed in this book .
This is the second Insallment to this lovely story . It's a year on fro. When Rosie took over the Sweet shop building up the business up more and more Rosie when moved Stephen in to living with her in Lillian cottage life couldn't be better apart from Lilian is now in a home Rise hopes that she will come back home and keeps her room untouched but Lilian has settle in at the home and will be running it in no time ....

While I was reading this book I felt that I hadn't really finished the first book as all the old characters put in and I was carrying the story on..

life is going smoothly even grumpy old Stephen who won Roise heart in the last book as a job at the primary school and is really enjoying it ,to Lady Lipton dismay she would rather have him running the family business and home Lipton Hall.. now all Rosie would love is a ring on her finger and really settle down as she has roots here now , so when she receives a call from Angie  her mother from Oz saying she and her bother and family are coming over to see she couldn't wait but also has to tell Stephen they are coming !!!!!

Also you settle back into the story there is a tragedy the Primary is hit by a lorry while the school is  full of children the village pull together and Stephen becomes a hero by protecting a student from an i pact of a blast and lands himself back in hospital while they Re mending his back from the blast Stephen is having flash backs from past and present events and starts to push Roise away inturn Rosie takes it on herself to save the school and village.....

As well as old characters we meet some new ones when a stranger turns up at the sweet shop acting like he had been they before ... but James arrived at the nursing home with his son Edward Lilian had seen a ghost was her mi d playing tricks on her or was she seeing her Henry .....

I found it very hard to put this book dos  with following Rosie ups and downs . While she and Stephen get they happy ever after walking into marriage or walking away to Oz to be with her family also will Lilian get her happy ever after too ...

You will just have to read the book find out it shouldn't be missed.

A Chirstmas Feast By Katie Fforde

Well Katie is my top author and I count the days down till her books come out so when this came on the shelves I had to read it but this may be my shortest review .

To describe this book with out giving any spoilers away is hard but I would say that it a chirstmas stocking with never ending gifts that's keeps giving once you finish one short story another fantastic one replaces it and you never want to put it down.

I wish that more authors and publishers that this road as I'm very old school I miss out on so many short stories that are only made for ebooks if they followed Katie Fforde and put them in a book then us old school would run out and buy them !!!!!!

I looking forward too the new book and I'm counting down the days xxxxx
