I'll Take New York by Miranda Dickinson

I first got hooked on this author after reading Take a Look at me now (if you have not read that then go get a copy highly recommend this book to everyone ). When heard that there was a new book I had to get a book on publication day !!!!!

In this book we meet Bea James who owns a book store in New York City with her best friend . Bea has been with her boyfriend Otis for five years and he has let him down time after times so when he did not show up for a family meal he arrange that was the last straw no more Oris or men in her life...

Then there is Jack who's wife has kicked him out of they family home after 10 years and now wants a divorce so his heart still hurts plus he had to move back to New York and start his life all over again.

Through fate they paths meet at Jake's little brother Ed and Rosie engagement party, Bea gets brought along by her brother and his girlfriend they hoping that she would meet a hot guy and forget back the trouble of Otis , but Bea finds they are no single men and heads to the bar. the barman (Jake) takes pity on her and start to talk and by the end of the party they have made a pact to no partners or relationships as they both have heartbreaks in common but they both fail to get each other's number so through the story we see how they find each other again and start to see the city they way with no complications .

fate has other pa,no they start to spend every weekend together and become close friends so when Bea host her very first birthday party in the store is course she ask Jake to help her and Russ out but things for Jake change that night so he feels brave and asks her to his brothers wedding as friends no strings !!!!!!

What I loved about the book is the relationship Bea has with her Grandma Dot and writing to each other asking and giving advice on affairs of the heart.

That's enough spoilers , will Bea and Jake break the 'pact' to each other or for the past ......
You will just have to read the book and find out you won't be disappointed or want to put it down.
